Martin Loewi, Green Street Academy
Martin's Fellowship:
As the Baltimore Corps Fellow at Green Street Academy, Martin will be living that balance as half community organizer, half data scientist, working to understand the needs of the students' parents, and how the school can use its resources in helping them to find better employment.
Background:
Martin is in a PhD at Carnegie Mellon, where he studies machine learning and social network analysis. He has done analytics work for the Chicago Department of Public Health and The National LGBTQ Task Force, directed research in an effort to recruit young leaders to Congress, and been awarded by the American Political Science Association for his approach to network analysis.
Why do you choose to live and work in Baltimore?
Because of the people I know who are going to be there.
What's one surprising fact about yourself?
Four languages? (Are you surprised?) Um -- my undergraduate degree has 14 words in it.
