Geoff Stack, Business Volunteers Maryland

Geoff's Fellowship:

Through his Baltimore Corps placement, Geoff joined Business Volunteers Maryland as Manager of Business and Community Relations. For ten years, BVM has catalyzed partnerships between the for-profit and non-profit sectors primarily by enabling volunteer service days, bolstering non-profit Boards and helping businesses create quality community engagement plans. As BVM continues this work, they will be adding opportunities for skilled project collaborations, school-business partnerships and contributing to conversations about appropriate responses to the April 2015 unrest in Baltimore.

Background:

Geoff has spent time as a freelance consultant, urban designer, social enterprise manager and ecology educator. He has lived in Washington DC, San Diego CA, Saco ME, Sydney AUS, and Karlskrona, Sweden.  The Chesapeake has always been home.

Why do you choose to live and work in Baltimore?  

It's home.

What's one surprising fact about yourself?  

I was arrested in front of the White House (during a civil disobedience action in support of progressive climate change policy)..

Go-to snack? 

Almonds, cranberries, chocolate.
