Kelleigh Eastman, Baltimore City Health Department

Kelleigh's Fellowship:

Kelleigh is working as a Fellow with the Baltimore City Health Department. She works closely with the executive team and senior-level staff in order to move forward the department's agenda, which includes addressing youth wellness, mental health, substance abuse, and care for the most vulnerable.

Background:

Kelleigh graduated from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in May 2015, earning a Master of Science in Public Health focusing in Health Policy and Management. Prior to coming to the Baltimore City Health Department, she worked for Senator Barbara A. Mikulski and the Baltimore Food Policy Initiative, an agency within the city's Department of Planning.

Why do you choose to live and work in Baltimore?

I came here to go to school but I fell in love with the city over the past two years. I chose to live and work here now because the people are friendly and I feel more welcome here than I do in my hometown. There are great minds doing great things here and I want to be a part of it!

What's one surprising fact about yourself?

I can probably lift more than you.

Go-to snack?

1 cup Greek yogurt (plain), 1 cup blueberries, 2 tsp walnuts
