I am so excited by the response in just the few short days since we announced the opening of applications for our fifth Fellowship cohort.
I have to admit, the first few years of a start-up can seem a bit crazed, so it was amazing to see this application launch, While energy is buzzing around our Cohort 5 application launch, our current Cohort 4 is in full swing. A couple of weeks ago, the Fellows were wrapping up their mid-year retreat. It's always heartening to see our network as the rock stars they truly are, as was the case with Alumnus David Fakunle, PhD, who led a workshop on "Lion's Side Storytelling." Not to be outdone, Fellow Melanie Shimano is presenting TODAY at SXSW EDU on open-sourced tech in classes!
Meanwhile, we've placed individuals within Baltimore's social sector through our Place for Purpose service, and our Elevation Awardees are in full swing, launching their programs, hosting events, getting their communications infrastructure in place, and so much more!
We're so grateful for the many ways in which our ever-expanding network continues to demonstrate the many ways in which Baltimore truly is the best place in the world to change the world!
Sincerely, Fagan Harris
President & CEO
