JOY Baltimore (JOY) is a grassroots organization whose primary goal is to end youth homelessness in Baltimore. Through our Drop-In Center, we offer homeless, displaced, runaway, and LGBTQ youth (ages 14-24) access to emergency and permanent housing, medical and dental services, community services, vital records, and Maryland State ID.

JOY Drop-In Center is designed to help meet the specific needs of unaccompanied youth. JOY, which stands for Just Our Youth, offers our participants a centralized space where they can voluntarily come in and receive access to emergency shelter, food, survival aid, treatment and counseling, crisis intervention, and follow-up support. Our services are open to all youth living in Baltimore and seeking help, with or without referral.

JOY believes in connecting all youth to housing while simultaneously connecting them to employment, school, and/or training programs. We try to meet the youth at their level and assist them with direct care at their own pace. JOY also provides case management for each client which allows us to track their progress. All information shared is held confidential.

JOY has adopted a “We Don’t Give Up” policy. We work closely with individuals and families to assist them to meet their goals of housing permanence and gainful employment.
