Baltimore Furniture Bank

The primary goal for this project is to connect low-income folks who need furniture and household goods to gently used items donated by the public, local businesses, and universities. Heart’s Place Furniture for Families, a Baltimore Furniture Bank will share warehouse space with Heart’s Place Services, a project that is, among other things, retrofitting shipping containers into housing for very low-income families, including those with recent homeless experience.

The Baltimore Furniture Bank will both furnish the finished shipping containers and operate a service to connect low-income folks who need furniture and household goods with gently used items. This will be more than a furniture bank; it will also be a site that students in college and high school can visit to do community service .
