Monique Boyd, COO

A mission-driven leader, effective operator and proven culture builder, Monique Boyd excels at bringing diverse teams together to move important agendas forward. Her three-decade-plus career has been dedicated to expanding access to education and opportunities. A tenacious advocate for economic justice and equality, she has a track record of affecting durable change and developing organizations grounded in empathy, ingenuity and rigor. A widely respected expert in student financial aid policy and higher education administration, Monique’s experience spans government relations, fundraising, policy development and communications. She has a track record of building agile, innovative organizations and has done so in a variety of environments, including higher education, public policy and non-profits.

Whether working with iconic universities backed by multi-billion endowments or upstart grassroots organizations, Monique brings keen fiscal management sensibilities, discipline and pragmatism that allow teams to exceed organizational objectives.

Prior to joining Baltimore Corps., she held executive leadership positions at the Job Opportunities Task Force, the University of Maryland in College Park, Carnegie Mellon University and Chatham University. A hallmark of her leadership is engaging new and existing donors to grow robust grant and student financial aid programs.

Monique’s professional affiliations include the ICH Workforce Subcommittee, Economic Mobility Grant Steering Committee, College Board, the National Association for Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), and Pennsylvania Association for Financial Aid Administrators (PASFAA). She is passionate about mentoring and coaching people and cultivating accountable, visionary leaders. A Pittsburgh native, she is an ardent Steelers fan, a dedicated runner and fitness enthusiast. Monique earned a BA in Management from Chatham University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Point Park University.
