About: Arts Every Day strengthens learning by making arts education and cultural experiences an integral part of classroom instruction for all students in Baltimore City Public Schools. Serving as a catalyst for creative learning, Arts Every Day builds and sustains long-term partnerships with schools, artists, and cultural institutions while working to connect and empower teachers as leaders within their school communities.
Arts Every Day (AED) works to ensure all Baltimore City Public Schools students have access to the arts every day through arts education, arts programming, and arts-integrated instruction. We believe in the arts – in every school, for every student, every day. Arts Every Day works toward this goal through the forging of partnerships with Baltimore City Public Schools, the District office, and Baltimore City’s arts and cultural community. Key Activities:
- School Partnerships: Through partnerships with individual Baltimore City schools, Arts Every Day builds creative and connected learning communities by providing funding for student arts programs, a framework to build connections and collaborations across the curriculum, and teacher professional development in arts integration. Partnership services are provided at no cost to the school.
- Professional Learning for Teachers: Arts Every Day supports an active professional learning community of classroom teachers, arts educators, and special educators to teachers district wide by offering over 25 hours of professional development annually.
- Arts and Cultural Partnerships: Arts Every Day partners with local arts institutions, organizations, and artists and connects them with Baltimore City Public Schools through events, a web-based directory of programs and providers, and matching of schools to free and reduced price arts opportunities.
- Equity and Access for ALL Baltimore City Students: As the founder of the Baltimore Arts Education Coalition, Arts Every Day works with a growing number of organizations, artists, teachers, and parents advocating for the arts in all Baltimore City Schools.
