Joy Barnes, Behavioral Health Fellow, Baltimore City Health Department
Joy’s Fellowship:
Joy is responsible for supporting the Baltimore City Health Department’s response to the opioid epidemic, primarily through project management and stakeholder outreach. She engages residents and people affected by drug use in discussions about the opioid epidemic and the City’s response to it; the racialized history of the epidemic, including the history of criminalization and the effect that has had on communities of color in particular; and strategies for advancing the goals of harm reduction and treatment access.
