Fellow Friday: Vijay Ramasamy

This week we have Vijay Ramasamy, Special Assistant for AHC, Trauma, and Telemedicine at the Baltimore City Health Department. Vijay primarily supports @bmore_healthy's citywide trauma strategy, a three year federal Department of Education (@usedgov) grant to implement a school-based telemedicine initiative, and a federal CMS Accountable Health Communities grant focused on integrating a cohesive “social determinants of care” model into existing health infrastructure. He also supports the legislative affairs work of BCHD and assists the Chief Medical Officer in the implementation of initiatives to combat the #opioid epidemic.

Vijay says: "Through the Baltimore Corps Fellowship, I've been able to find my dream career: working in public service to tackle our City's most pressing healthcare challenges. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with and learn from the incredible change makers here at the health department and around the Baltimore community to help ensure health as a human right for our City's residents. The people I have met through this Fellowship have cultivated my passion for  health equity and helped me grow as a leader, public servant, and advocate."
